Well, the sabbatical has finally ended as the Palm Beach Gardens resident announced on twitter earlier this week that is using his medical extension and returning to golf in order to try and keep his PGA Tour card for another year.

Blanks will participate in the Web.com Tour Finals starting next week. The four week playoff event is comprised of golfers that finished 126-200 in FedEx Cup points and missed out on the FedEx Cup playoffs as well as those that finished 1-75 in earnings on the Web.com tour this season. In addition, golfers with medical extensions are also eligible to participate.

The top 25 in points at the end of the four week playoff will all earn or retain PGA Tour cards for the 2014 season. The Web.com Tour Finals begin August 29 at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana and wrap up with the Web.com Tour Championship which will be held September 26-29 at the TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach.
