According to the United States Census Bureau, Jupiter Island has a total area of 3.6 square miles , of which, 2.7 square miles is land and 0.9 square miles (24.86%) is water.  As of 2009, there are 656 people (up 4.68% from 620 in 2000), 285 households, and 190 families residing in the town.  The population density is 228.0 people per square mile.  There are 494 housing units at an average density of 181.7/sq mi.
