Junior Achievement Receives Donation at Jupiter Elementary School

State Farm recently present Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast with a check for $7,500, earmarked for the organization’s successful JA High School Heroes program.

The donation was made at Timber Trace Elementary School in Jupiter, adjacent to Old Palm Golf Club (at left),  in support of the program that offers financial lessons to schoolchildren.
The program works like this: High-school students are paired with elementary-school students and are equipped with a tool kit that enables them to become teachers for a day and help their young peers learn how to succeed economically. The program has grown in popularity, as more elementary schools request to participate in it every year. The $7,500 will fund much of the growth, said Claudia Kirk Barto, president of the organization.

“We are pleased for the opportunity to recognize the efforts of these young students and show the tremendous success of one of our most esteemed programs, JA High School Heroes,” Barto said.
