Boca Raton Voted One of the Most Livable Cities in US
Boca Raton is a city in central luxurious Palm Beach County, Florida. It is a picturesque seaside vacation destination and it has recently been name one of the most livable cities in the United States. This research was not done by a Boca Raton city tourism group or the local chamber of commerce but it was done by the online site 24/7 Wall Street. A very reputable source indeed. Boca Raton scored an outstanding 11th place for most livable places in the United States. The sample data for the poll was taken from 550 cities in the United States with over 65,000 people. The excellent score of eleven was based on many factors and Boca weighed in very well with things like leisure activities, climate, shopping. dining and entertainment. It also scored well in things like access to attractions like the beach, museums and other larger cities like Miami, Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Boca Raton also scored well in housing affordability and cost of living. Some of the issues that concern some of the residents of Boca Raton was crime although crime is well below the national average in Boca Raton (190 crimes per 100,000 residents). Residents were also concerned with extreme weather like hurricanes or flooding. The USA Today was cited as describing Boca Raton as a city with “no shortage of things to do.”
The other two Florida cities that made the top 50 list of most livable places in the United States were Weston (No. 15) and Cape Coral (No. 46).
The number one most livable city in the US was Newton, Mass.
