On Tuesday, the Old Palm resident essentially called it quits for the remainder of the 2013 season by ruling himself out of competition for the next two months.

Oosthuizen will take the next two months to recover from neck, back, and hip injuries that have caused him to withdraw from the U.S. Open and the Open Championship in the last month alone. Treating the injuries with rest and rehab, the 2010 British Open champion will target the Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland at the end of September.

Oosthuizen is currently ranked number 147 in the current FedEx standings meaning that he will not be eligible to compete in the FedEx Cup playoffs. The top 125 players in the FedEx Cup standings will be eligible to compete in the first playoff event at the end of August.
